Redesign of box and tube for two items of the BlanX White Shock whitening toothpaste family. The main goals were: to raise the perception of the products and move it from pure hedonism to beauty & health concept; to actualize the packaging; to describe in a clearer way the functionality of the system toothpaste + LED light activator; to increase the perceived distance between the two items anyway maintaining the affinity and a shared design concept.
Project included the study of the naming following White Shock logo. Redesign di pack esterno e tubo per due referenze del sistema di igiene orale sbiancante e antibatterico BlanX White Shock. Gli obiettivi primari sono stati: elevare il percepito dei prodotti e muoverlo da un approccio puramente edonistico ad uno più orientato alla bellezza combinata a salute e benessere; attualizzare il packaging; illustrare in modo più chiaro la funzionalità del sistema composto da dentifricio e attivatore a luce LED; aumentare la distanza percepita tra le due referenze pur mantenendone affinità e condivisione del concept. Long handle sander part of a professional power tools family with brand DERA for the Far East market.
The name Hexa refers to the hexagonal shape used as recurring design and visual element in various parts of the product (main body and handle sections, logo shape, …). In particular the handle has got specific dimension (smaller than usual) especially suitable for Asian women, who are the typical users. In the pictures two versions of the sander are shown: the one in the foreground is the original concept with an innovative design of the front support and the main handle, plus a customized grommet sleeve. The other one behind is the final version put in production, with a more traditional architecture but maintaining the general concept. Levigatrice parte di una famiglia di elettroutensili professionali a brand DERA per il mercato asiatico. Il nome Hexa si riferisce alla forma esagonale, utilizzata come elemento visivo e di design ricorrente in diverse parti del prodotto (sezione del corpo centrale e della maniglia, campo del logo, …). In particolare la maniglia ha dimensioni specifiche (inferiori rispetto alla norma) per adattarsi all’antropometria delle donne asiatiche, tipiche utilizzatrici di questi prodotti. Nelle immagini sono illustrate due versioni della levigatrice: quella in primo piano è il concept originale caratterizzato da un design innovativo del supporto anteriore e della maniglia principale, oltre che un passacavo personalizzato. Designed to represent somehow a “vertical bathtub”, where the user is tempted to literally lean on the inclined back wall while trying a multi-sensorial experience. Cloud in fact comes with steam, rain, cascade, nebulization, aromatherapy, colorful mood lighting, sound system, everything controlled by a smart, touch interface that talks about a real wellness path.
Disegnato per rappresentare una sorta di “vasca verticale”, dove l’utente è invogliato ad appoggiarsi alla parete inclinata mentre sperimenta una vera e propria esperienza multisensoriale. Cloud infatti include vapore, pioggia, cascata, nebulizzazione, aromaterapia, luci soffuse e colorate, musica, il tutto controllabile attraverso un’intuitiva interfaccia touch che parla di un vero percorso benessere. New system, new gesture, new unique shape of the handle inspired by the wing of a seagull hovering in the air for this die-cast aluminium cookware set.
Continuity between vessel and handle, just a white seamlessly silhouette, If observed from its top, the shape reveals itself while you look around it. Every piece of the set a new feature, a new thought to the user. Double side buttons to release in a safe and intuitive way the removable handle with only one hand. Unique concave rim silhouette to suggest and help an easy sauté. A lid that plays with the vessel shape to naturally follow the cooking process, now closing, now leaving the vapor to flow out. Nuovo sistema, nuova gestualità, nuova la forma della maniglia ispirata all’ala di un gabbiano sospeso nell’aria per questa famiglia di pentole in fusione di alluminio. Continuità tra corpo e maniglia, semplici silhouette bianche senza soluzione di continuità se osservate dall’alto, la geometria si rivela girando attorno agli oggetti. Ogni pezzo una nuova peculiarità, un nuovo pensiero all’utente. Doppio pulsante laterale per rilasciare in modo sicuro ed intuitivo la maniglia removibile con una sola mano. Inedita forma concava del bordo superiore per suggerire ed assecondare il sauté. Un coperchio che gioca con il bordo concavo del contenitore per seguire naturalmente i processi di cottura, ora chiudendolo completamente, ora lasciando lo spazio necessario allo sfiato del vapore. Permanent installation to support the visit of the Pardis Innovation Center at Cinisello Balsamo (Milan) GEICO headquarters.
The suspended totems represent the “stops”, the milestones of the itinerary and help to show and briefly explain through text and simplified illustrations the technological highlights of the most innovative GEICO products, designed for the car body painting process. The visit itinerary has been designed to be introduced by a metaphorical short videoclip (Miss J-Co is the title) that plays with the comparison between the car body treatment and all the various daily body care and make-up activities of a woman in the morning. Two mop buckets both using the spin squeezing system, popular in the Far East markets.
Whale, the basic model, has got a shape both organic and technical, inspired to the characteristic streaked abdomen of the whales and contemporary to some kind of protective helmet to communicate both dynamism and strength. Stern is the premium model, bigger, with a pedal to make the strips squeezing action more comfortable and other optional like double handle, soap dispenser, draining cork and a small wheel integrated in the pedal that, combined with the longer handle, let drag the full bucket around while cleaning the house. Due mocio entrambi con sistema di centrifuga per la strizzatura, molto popolare nei mercati asiatici. Whale, il modello base, ha una forma insieme organica e tecnica, ispirandosi contemporaneamente sia alla caratteristica texture della pancia delle balene sia a certi caschetti di sicurezza, per comunicare insieme dinamismo e robustezza. Stern è il modello premium, più capiente, con un sistema a pedale che rende più confortevole la strizzatura e altri accessori quali la doppia maniglia, l'erogatore di detergente liquido integrato, il tappo di svuotamento rapido e una piccola ruota integrata nel pedale che, combinato alla maniglia lunga, consente di trascinare il secchio pieno durante le pulizie. Concept for the contest Tra le briccole di Venezia promoted by Riva 1920, edition 2012.
The briccola is the oak pole traditionally used in the Venice lagoon as waterway signal. The table top is obtained starting from a single briccola, recovered at the end of its life and locally eroded (mainly where it was an inch from the surface of the water). The briccola is to be polished up outside, cut in planks then flanked each other following a specific sequence that gives to the table top a characteristic design. Structure in powder coated steel. Concept per il concorso Tra le briccole di Venezia promosso da Riva 1920 edizione 2012. La briccola è il tradizionale palo in quercia della laguna che segnala le vie di navigazione. Il piano del tavolo è ricavato da un’unica briccola, recuperata alla fine del suo ciclo di vita ed erosa in modo tipicamente disomogeneo (maggiormente nel punto rimasto a pelo d'acqua). Viene ripulita esternamente, tagliata in tavole che vanno poi fissate affiancandole seguendo una determinata sequenza che contribuisce a dare al piano del tavolo un disegno caratteristico. Palletizing and bottle capacity optimization, reduction of the plastic material to mold, innovative cap cover/doser shared by the four pack sizes. Redesign completo dei quattro formati componenti la famiglia di ammorbidenti (750ml, 1-2-3l) partendo dal concetto di “goccia di essenza” (declinato nella sezione dei flaconi, nella forma delle etichette, della capsula, ecc.), dal connotante foro maniglia tondo e dalla texture superficiale storicamente identificativa del brand (“cannettatura”). Studio completo, dall’ottimizzazione del pallet e dei cartoni (più prodotti per pallet) a quella della capacità dei flaconi (riduzione delle dimensioni e del peso a fronte di una aumentato facing a scaffale) e design di un innovativo tappo dosatore condiviso tra i quattro formati. Small counterbalanced electric three wheels forklift truck. I designed especially the cockpit, including the steering wheel/electronic control carter and the side instruments panel, integrated on the battery bonnet.
In particular the front dashboard is designed in four parts to be produced by ABS thermoforming technology. Carrello elevatore elettrico controbilanciato a tre ruote compatto. Ho studiato in particolare la cabina di guida, includendo il cruscotto frontale per piantone sterzo e dispositivo elettronico di controllo e la plancia laterale integrata al cofano batteria. Luca Il'ič (Iljc) Loschi was born in 1974 in Milan where he currently works, although some might say that he comes from Emilia Romagna, Tuscany, or even from Russia. In some ways they'd all be right.
He graduated with a first-class honours degree in Industrial Design at the Politecnico in Milan.
During that period he realised that the material handling industry was lacking in design, so he focused primarily on this sector, learning above all how to manage a design process and tasting the great gap between saying and doing.
He's naturally curious and he strongly believes that a product is, first of all, a communication matter, which also represents an answer to a question still waiting to be asked.
He's keen on working as part of a team and sharing creativity with different cultures. That's the reason why he has been working at IED Centro Ricerche, starting as a junior designer until 2008 when he was appointed as coordinator of the Design Department with a young and talented team.
He has also enjoyed working as a freelancer in the fork lift truck market and has obtained some valuable graphic design experience.
In 2010 he started another adventure, establishing his own studio in Milan.
He enjoys both learning and teaching and that's why he has worked as a tutor where he taught amazing workshops and courses in Italy involving brands like Nike, Eridania, Chicco, GiVi. He has also taught abroad in Brazil and Egypt. He helps students realise how to materialise their ideas using 3D modeling & rendering software (certified Rhinoceros Level 2 Trainer). He hold courses of industrial design at IED and Politecnico Design Schools in Milan. He enjoys teaching, but ultimately prefers learning. He likes getting his hands dirty. And he definitively loves people.
